     Dr. David W. Coit is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering. He received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and MS and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
    His research interests are in the areas of system reliability optimization, reliability and risk analysis and multiple-objective decision-making considering uncertainty. He previously worked for more than ten years at IIT Research Institute, where he managed many research projects including several projects to develop reliability prediction models for the U. S. Air Force Rome Laboratory, a major effort to optimize vehicle maintenance planning for the U. S. Marine Corps Logistics Base, and projects to assess the reliability of elevators and escalators. He has had articles published in IEEE Transactions on Reliability, INFORMS Journal on Computing, IIE Transactions, International Journal on Production Research and others. He is a member of IIE, INFORMS and IEEE.
