Visit any Career Services office and pick up our fall or spring "Events" calendar.
Sign up and attend our seminars,  "What Do I Do with a Major in...?" and "Major Decisions/Major Dreams." Check out our seminars in our Events section.
Schedule an appointment with a career counselor to discuss possible majors and career options.  Follow-up by talking to an academic advisor for more details on academic requirements and procedures for declaring your major.
Continue exploring your academic interests through a variety of courses.
Consult our "Career Opportunities for Majors in." series.  85 majors at Rutgers are profiled, including lists of actual jobs obtained by Rutgers alumni.  Paper copies are available at any Career Services office.
Visit the Rutgers Online Career Planning Site section on this website. Explore your interests, skills, and values and how they relate to Rutgers University majors and general career options. A brief introductory session with a career counselor is required.
Begin reading about career options at one of our three Career Resource Centers.
Use the online Alumni Career Network to learn about and contact alumni in your major or career fields of interest.  This is an online listing of over 1000 Rutgers alumni who are willing to be contacted to give you career information and advice. 
Learn about career options from professionals by attending our career panels each semester.
Seek a summer internship or externship to explore careers and gain valuable experience.  Go to CareerKnight to review internship listings earmarked for Rutgers students online. 
Ask your academic department about major-specific internship opportunities.
Visit the Student Employment Office on College Avenue for information on part-time jobs.
Develop your resume for internships or externships and have it critiqued by a career counselor during drop-in hours or resume critique hours.
Attend our Internship Career Day in early February.
Join a campus organization or activity in an area of interest and attend meetings regularly.  Develop leadership, organizational and planning skills. Include them on your resume.
