I am an avid tennis player and always looking for new partners. Male, female, young old, I could not care less. Being a professor, my schedule is fairly flexible -- I might be able to play anytime anyday.

Although from 1987 through 1995 I had an unbroken string of receiving at least one trophy in at least one tournament each season (Spring thru Fall), my enthusiasm exceeds my skill by quite a lot. I never belonged to a club, but from Spring thru Fall, I used to play 5-6 days/week. But then I made the mistake of having too many kids. So, for years, I was lucky to get out 2-3 times per week, but I still tried.

Then, starting in 2000, I had a bad string of injuries.  I developed sufficiently severe tennis elbow that I had to stop playing for over a year.  Then I restarted.  Just as I was getting my game back, in 2003, I broke my right elbow (falling off my bicycle).  That kept me out another 6 months.

<>When I came back, I could not serve righty, because I could not extend my arm, and it hurt to try.
So, I learned to serve lefty.  That was a few years ago.  For a while I served ambidextrously, and,
even though I did not serve particularly well from either side, it seemed to throw many people
off (heh heh heh).

In the last couple of years, I have regained my old form and then some. There are various ways to "measure" tennis skill -- I am on the border of intermediate and advanced; I am a solid "B" player; I have a USTA rating or about 3.53 (right on
the border of 3.5 and 4.0).   I have been crushed by the worst player on the RU men's team; but I have beaten people who have played on college teams for small schools.  I have captained several USTA teams over the last
few years.

If you would like to hit, best bet would be to send me an email message (jussim@rci.rutgers.edu).
