The references below were "hits" on an Excite search with the terms "Homocysteine" and "heart." I have tried to put the most responsible articles at the top. Scanning through these articles can give you an idea of what is happening with Homocysteine research. I think Homocys shows depletion of the one-carbon pool, so it's an indicator. Injecting excess Homocys can also probably cause depletion of the one-carbon pool. More folate would of course facilitate regeneration of the supply of one-carbon fragments. F.D. Apr. 23 1998.
