This is my fourth year in the Linguistics PhD program at Rutgers, where I'm studying formal semantics. Previously, I was at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan working on a BA in Philosophy and Linguistics, a MA in Linguistics, and for The LINGUIST List. |

Not only did I go to school in Michigan, but I grew up there. I left a lot of family and friends in MI, and enjoy returning when I can (especially for zombie movie marathons, used books (John K. King, Detroit), carrot muffins (Avalon Bakery, Detroit), or for the best red curry imaginable (Lai Thai, Canton)). |

Back in MI, I used to play a lot of Euchre. But, as it turns out, that's a mid-westy thing, like 'party store'. Now, when I'm not working, I go for a bike ride, watch a movie, or listen to some records (but miss the hours of cards up at The Studio). |

I would rather travel than have fancy shoes. When I was little(r), my parents and I went on many road trips. We saw Bar Harbor, the Adirondacks, Nebraskan corn fields, Native American cliff dwellings, Old Faithful, and many other things in between. They sparked a love for traveling, and already I've been lucky enough to visit 42 states and 11 countries. |

The summer of 2006, I was again lucky and traveled to many places: Montana for fieldwork, Spain for ESSLLI, and Italy for a presentation at LREC. Photos from my travels, as well as miscellaneous other things, are available here. |
