Announcements:
- 2nd Exam
Your grades are posted on Blackboard.
- Makeup Exam
All students must take the makeup exam in the classroom PH-111. Check syllabus for date and time.
What to
do if you believe that your exam score does not reflect your knowledge:
- Check your exams to verify that there is no grading error. The TAs have the exams and
the solution key.
- At the end of the semester submit your class notes, homework, and all other work
for my review.
Your current grade is
based on 90 (A), 85 (B+), 80 (B), 75(C+), 70 (C), 60 (D), below 60 (F)
scale.
If you do not submit your notes-homework package,
I will NOT review your exam blue books.
The date for submission has been changed to Monday May 12.
Instructions for submission of your work:
- Organize all material. First, class notes by lecture date. Make sure you highlight
lecture date and / or chapter covered. Then homework, and finally sample tests.
- Put everything in a binder or staple everything with a large staple so that all
material is held as a single package. Pick up your homework from outside my office so that
you can submit it in a binder.
- Imagine this as the final project report. No loose papers. No out of sequence
lectures or chapters. No copies of the answers that I have already posted on
Blackboard.
- Submit this material by 3 p.m. on Monday May 12.
Submit the material to my TA Rodrigo Duran.
Do NOT submit the material in Ind Eng Office.
- Those who are authorized to take the makeup should submit their material to the TAs
at the end of the makeup.

exam, and get my permission for missing the exam. Having other exams or
class projects is NOT an acceptable excuse.
- There is an UNPLANNED
emergency, such as falling sick, or getting in an accident on the way to
the exam, etc. I will need a copy of medical certificate, accident report,
etc. for verification.
- Makeup cannot be used to improve an exam score already received.

- The material you submitted to me can be picked up from my TAs during their office hours after
Feb 10, 2008.
- If you have a temporary
grade, then you have an opportunity to take BOTH exams in Spring 2008. Your
new exam scores will determine your permanent grade which will be
submitted around May 20, 2008.
- Unless you retake both exams, your temporary grade will automatically
become your permanent grade. (Note: TZ becomes F).
- Your permanent grade can never be lower than your temporary grade.
- Please do NOT register in Spring 2008.
