Our committee explained to Nancy Winterbauer and Sandy Russell that we have been doing some of the leg work for "Transfer of Sick Time" by contacting other state universities who already have this program. We offered to give her the info we've obtained, however, she just wanted the names of the universities because she has access to their websites. Presently there is a "Transfer of Sick Leave Program" on our committees' website that was previously developed for a proposal, however, the present committee does not believe that this proposal is as simple and problem free as it can be. We told her our idea was to have a bank, where each university employee can donate one day when needed. There will need to be a panel of people to determine who is eligible to receive this donated time.
Sandy Russell was not aware of this insurance, and that TIAA-CREF participants already had it offered to them. She will find out more about it and get back to us.

Sandy Russell explained that Human Resources is already looking into
implementing the Transit Check program. One problem is
determining the best method to administer the program. They will
continue working on this and update our committee in one month at
another meeting soon to be arranged.
