Prior to the opening of the meeting the agenda was approved.
The meeting was called to order at 12:10 P.M.
The minutes of the June 1998 meeting appeared at first to be unavailable for review. A motion offered by Edith Frankel was passed, deferring reading of the June minutes to the August meeting. At this point, copies of the draft minutes for June were delivered by Rick Crispin on behalf of the June secretary, Rob Toth. Frankel moved to reconsider her earlier motion which, on reconsideration, was defeated. The June 1998 minutes were then approved as read.
President Pat Grove and Vice-president Jeff Rankin were both absent. Grove designated Darrell Carrington to preside in her place. There being no objections, Carrington presided pro tempore.
The president being absent, there was no report.
The delegate for the President's Office, Steve Otzenberger, had no prepared report. He delivered a brief oral update on the status of the Compensation Review Board's Steering Committee.
Benefits
No written report. The Cook Gym faculty/staff use fee has been suspended for the Summer of 1998. This renders the motion remanded to the committee concerning this fee moot.
Employee Relations
The ad hoc Mediation subcommittee met with the Princeton University ombudsman. (see attachment)
