Prior to the opening of the meeting, the agenda was approved. Pat reiterated that the President’s Committee on Pay for Performance never heard from APS staff that the majority were "strongly opposed" to P/F/P. With regard to unionization: As a body, we can’t take a stand on unionization – we can only provide the latest information, so constituents are well informed. Whichever your preference, it is very important to encourage everyone to vote because a non-vote will probably be equivalent to a union vote (union only needs a certain percentage of all votes actually cast). Daryl commented that the perception of APS staff of the Assembly is: "we exist to support higher Administration." Pat’s answer was, "the Assembly does not have an advocacy role, only advisory." Pat commented on the surveys returned after the brown bag lunch sessions. Generally, the sessions were well received and staff enjoyed meeting with senior administration staff who answered questions of interest to us. But, many staff don’t seem to know who their delegates are. They want us to reach out to them more often to provide the most recent information available. If someone should ask us a question and we don’t know the answer, please find the answer and get back to them ASAP. Other Business: Silver Knights – Activities are ongoing. A fall luncheon is planned the end of October. They are publishing a newsletter for members and they have asked for a speaker in Camden. Problem Solving – Carol Hartman (2-7589) / Dan McGraw (5-2377) and Personnel Counseling Office, 60 College Avenue, CAC. The meeting was adjourned at 1:10 p.m. Go to Contents Go to top of page |
