DEBATE CAMP
REGISTRATION
Overview

Ka-Neng and Eunice Au are coaches of an debate and speech (forensics) club. They've taught and coached debate for three academic years. Eunice has twelve years homeschooling experience and two teacher's certificates. Her husband has 20 years experience gathering research for college students.

Students considering the debate portion should be entering eighth grade as a minimum and be prepared to invest an average of 4-5 hours preparation time between sessions. Students interested in only the speech component must be twelve years to participate. Since this is a club, no grades will be assigned; however, judging of the debate rounds and speech categories will occur.

Younger students interested in speech should contact Larissa Lee (Junior Speech, ages 7 - 9) or Sara Mathews (Intermediate Speech, ages 10 and up).

For more information on formal debate competitions and speech contest rules, please visit the Website of the National Christian Forensics and Communications Association at http://www.ncfca.org.

NCFCA Mission Statement

"The National Christian Forensics and Communications Association (NCFCA) believes that formal speech and debate can provide a means for home schooled students to learn and exercise analytical and oratorical skills, addressing life issues from a Biblical world view in a manner that glorifies God. To provide these opportunities to home schooled students, NCFCA shall facilitate qualifying tournaments throughout the country and the annual national tournament."
