ROUND ROBIN (11/30/07)

DEBATE CAMP
REGISTRATION
Round Robin

NJ debaters of Manus Oratorum invite you to join them for NJ's First Round Robin and Speech Demonstration on November 30, 2007 at Rutgers Community Christian Church in Somerset, NJ.

We plan to offer four rounds of policy and value debate and to provide opportunities throughout the day for speech demonstrations. We have slots available for the first fourteen policy teams and twelve value debaters to register.

  • Debater sign-in: 8:00 am
  • Round 1: 8:45 am
  • Round 2: 10:40 am
  • Round 3: 1:00 pm
  • Round 4: 3:00 pm

We ask each policy team and every two value debaters to bring:

  • 1 timepiece (labelled so we can return it at the end of the day)
  • 1 judge

The NJ debate club Manus Oratorum will be inviting local young people to time the debate rounds. We welcome any other family or club members who will be traveling with your debate team to time as well. Please indicate this on your registration form.

Finally, since NCFCA speech and debate is so new in NJ, we would like to offer speech demonstrations to inspire those in NJ just starting out. If you would be willing to give a speech according to NCFCA guidelines as a demonstration, it would be a great blessing to us. If you'd like your speech critiqued, please indicate this on your registration form.

Please email your completed registration form at your earliest convenience. When you've received email notification, please mail in your registration fees. Please complete the registration process by mailing in your fees within seven days of email notification from us. Registrations not completed will be considered forfeited and offered to those on a waiting list.

*UPDATED* We are arranging host housing to the best of our ability. Please contact Beverly Dugle at earlyivyleague@earthlink.net with your requests. You can also consult this list of local hotels and motels.

*UPDATED* Finally, please bag your lunch for the day and bring a snack to share. Here is a list of local food options if you wish to send a non-debater or non-judge out for lunch or for everyone to eat dinner before you return home.

We are so excited to see you... and to welcome you to NJ!
