Collaborative Zine

Your collaborative webzines should cover something technical or design related. Students can either form groups interested in a particular topic such as Photoshop, Flash, or color theory or else create a more generalized group in which each member covers a different topic. Group size should be 4-8 students.

Note that everyone in the group need not be expert about the selected topic. In fact, it might be important for groups to include inexperienced members so that "newbie" perspectives don't get overlooked.

As with the Final Projects, the work here will start with surveying the field and refining your project niche. After the initial research phase, groups will sketch a homepage and subpage designs (plus a style sheet) and each group member will draft a Tutorial and Site Review. Groups will then decide what further material to add, such as useful links or bios, and then review and edit each other's work. Students may also decide to use Dreamweaver templates.

Students will be assigned to store their zines on the department's Web space at
www.eden.rutgers.edu/~webautha/ or www.eden.rutgers.edu/~webauthb/.

For FTP access (using SSH)

username = webautha or webauthb.
