About Me

I’m an Assistant Teaching Professor and the Online Coordinator for the Department of Linguistics at Rutgers University. I received my B.A. in Linguistics from Swarthmore College and my Ph.D. in Linguistics from Rutgers.

I'm interested in online learning, phonology, learnability, and Optimality Theory.

Serving as the Online Coordinator here at Rutgers gives me the great pleasure of blending my interests in linguistics and online education. I’ve developed six of our online courses and currently teach four: Language of Advertising; Sociolinguistics; Linguistics, the Internet, and Social Media; and Language and Law (coming in Spring 2018).

I am the faculty advisor to the Rutgers Speech and Hearing Club and am available to meet with students interested in speech and hearing more generally. Contact me to arrange a meeting.
