Momotombo

The faint white blur on the lower left flank of Momotombo is the geothermal field. Testing the steam wells created a fallout that coated the vegetation with a white glaze, probably CaCO3.   The conelet in front and right of the main cone is Momotombito, which is surrounded by the waters of Lake Managua..  It is unexplored by volcanologists or by me, at least.  I have great misgivings about boat safety in Central America, the boatman's descriptions of an island infested with rattlesnakes was the last straw and I chickened out.
