The cell biology and biochemistry of the cutaneous and pulmonary epithelium. 

Toxic actions of electrophiles and ultraviolet radiation.

Role of inflammatory cells and mediators, extracellular matrix degradation, and matrix remodeling in response to toxic agents.

Cytoprotective mechanisms in proliferating and differentiated epithelium.
