Career Services Resources
- Visit the office of Career Services on your campus. Pick up the Career Services Guide and read the section for First- and Second-year students.
- Visit the First- & Second-year Students section on our website.
- Consult our "Career Opportunities for Majors in" series. Over 70 majors at Rutgers are profiled, including lists of actual jobs obtained by Rutgers alumni.
- Pick up a First or Sophomore Year Action Plan and our fall or spring Events calendar.
- Attend our seminars, "What Do I Do with a Major in . . .?" and "Oh, Those Major Decisions," offered several times each semester. Review strategies and steps to determine the right major for you. See our Events calendar for details.
- Schedule a one-hour appointment with a career counselor at the Career Services office on your campus to explore possible choices of major.
- Consult the on-line Alumni Career Network to identify Rutgers graduates by major. Call them or write them to inquire about why they chose their major and how it impacted their career.
- Visit the Rutgers Online Career Planning Site on our website to explore your interests, skills, and values and how they relate to Rutgers University majors and general career options.
- Follow Career Services on Facebook and Twitter.

- Speak with faculty members and juniors and seniors about different college majors.
- Set up an appointment with an academic advisor through your college. Ask about requirements, number of majors, course selection, and other relevant issues.
