Brenda L. Shaw provides the administrative support, and assists with managing grant funds for the Center for Women and Work at Rutgers University. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Biblical Studies from Somerset Christian College and a Bachelor Degree in Health Administration from Kennedy Western University. Before coming to the center Brenda worked at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, where she was the Director of Medical Administration. Brenda managed the Allied Health Professional Staff/Medical Staff, while maintaining current credentials, and staying within JCAHO, State, Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services, Federal Regulations and HIPAA Guidelines. In her capacity as Director of Medical Administration, she also worked closely with administration to ensure Hospital Bylaws, Medical Staff Bylaws and Hospital/Medical School Affiliation Agreements were maintained. Brenda was also awarded for outstanding contributions to the Patient Relations Management Program, which assisted in high patient satisfaction scores for the hospital overall, and nationally.
Brenda was in Healthcare for more than 20 years. Her decision to make a career change has enabled her to journey into new and exciting areas of interest. She is enthusiastic about the work that she provides at the Center for Women and Work at Rutgers University.
