Melissa Anahory and a sleepy bear Melissa Anahory raised the most funds for Woodlands Wildlife Refuge, where she interned. Her reward? she was the only volunteer allowed to attend the releasing of the bears into the wild, an experience she says she will never forget. Good work, Melissa.

Steven Handel Orange County Great Park Design Team Member and lead Ecologist Steven Handel received the 2009 National Honor Award for Research from the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA).  His research project was titled, "Restoration Ecology Processes to Advance Natural Landscape Design." The Team also won a 2009 Professional Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) for their work.
