Pix of ruins around Arles

Paris

Our hotel room, Hotel le Calendal in Arles. Note the Provencal blue and yellow color scheme.

The view from our hotel window is the Roman Arena in the center of Arles.

Louise is standing on the balcony of our hotel room.

At this point, there is an old Roman Aqueduct. Half of the water went off to the right, to supply Arles. The other half tumbled down this precipice, driving a system of grain mills via water wheels. It was quite a clever piece of engineering.

This is the Arles Market, held on Saturdays and Wednesdays

A spice seller in the market.

Provencal Cloth.

Flamingoes in the Camargue, down near Ste. Marie sur Mer.

Stork on her nest in the Camargue.

Best candy store ever, in Aigues-Morts near Montpelier.
