FIRST EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENT (10 points):
Subscribe to the CLASS LISTERV (hiv_class@email.rutgers.edu) before midnight of 22 September 2000 and remain on the list through the end of the course.
The research on teaching shows that extra effort needs to be made for effective communications between instructor and students as well as student to student. To facilitate this I have established a listserv for the class where I am able to post announcements (i.e., class tomorrow will be cancelled due to blizzard conditions (no way!), respond to questions (i.e., No, IgG and IgA are not the same, see page 46 in Study Guide), and students may post appropriate (no spam!!) messages (i. e., study group meeting at library at 8 pm).
FOR MORE INFO GO TO LISTSERV DESCRIPTION
SECOND EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENT (10 points):
Register on the WebCT course component. Follow the directions for the WebCT course. During the semester, questions will be posted to the DISCUSSION GROUP. To earn the 10 points of extra credit you must respond twice to two of the discussion threadsposted for discussion. You may respond directly to the question, or to another student's comment, but a total of four responses (two comments for two questions) will be necessary to earn the ten points of extra credit. Cut off dates for various questions and the discussion following them will be posted on the listserv (hiv_class@email.rutgers.edu).
THIRD EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENT:
