Welcome back to school!
Our office has moved! We are now located at 247 Tillet Hall on the Livingston Campus in Piscataway.
Please note, our deadlines for grant applications have changed for the academic year. The first deadline for applications is October 15. Please use the new forms for 2009-2010. To fill out a grant application, click here.
Jenny Kurtz joined us in fall 2008 as our new Coordinator of LGBT Programs. She previously worked at Smith College’s Resource Center for Sexuality and Gender. She thoroughly enjoys working with the Rutgers community and looks forward to a new year of programs for 2009-2010. You can learn more about her here. This academic year she will be Acting Director of the Office of Social Justice Education and LGBT Communities.
Jenny is standing in for Cheryl Clarke, who will be Acting Dean of Students on Livingston Campus for the academic year. Dr. Clarke will still be overseeing the Committee to Advance Our Common Purposes. You can read more about her here.
Alexandria Dick joined the Office of Social Justice Education and LGBT Communities in fall 2008 and will continue to assist with diversity programming and grants. Alexandria earned her Master's in Women's and Gender Studies from Rutgers University in summer 2009 and is now full-time in the School of Social Work PhD program and working at the Center on Violence Against Women and Children.
We welcome two new graduate interns to our office: Sattik Deb and Nicholas Cano. Sattik received his Bachelor's in Political Science from Rutgers University and is currently attending the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers in College Student Affairs. Nicholas is a Master’s student in the Graduate School of Education School Counseling program at Rutgers. He received his Bachelor’s in Psychology from Hofstra University in 2009.
We also have Omar Reategui joining our office as our undergraduate workstudy student for the 2009-2010 academic year. Omar is a second-year student in the Psychology department at Rutgers University.
