The Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs has renamed and restructured the former Office of Diverse Community Affairs and Lesbian Gay Concerns. Beginning with the Fall 2005 semester this unit became the Office for Social Justice Education and LGBT Communities (SJE). Dr. Cheryl Clarke will continue as director of this office. Mr. Nicholas Roybal will serve as Acting Associate Director for LGBT Communities and work to coordinate and consolidate the university's efforts to enhance the quality of queer students'campus life for this community. Dr. Clarke will work with Prof. Clement Alexander Price (Chair/CACP), Director The Center for the Study of Culture, Ethnicity, and the Modern World (Newark) to promote the work of the Committee to Advance Our Common Purposes, the University's Diversity initiative. Ms. Janice D. Hoffman will continue to serve as Administrative Assistant of the SJE, which is located at 3 Bartlett Street on the College Avenue campus.
