NOTE: All applicants must be women majoring or planning to major in math, science, or engineering, and all programs require mentors/RAs to live in residence halls and be available during the span of the entire program.

Douglass Science Institute (DSI)
The Douglass Science Institute is a three week residential program that serves high school women who are interested in math, the sciences, and engineering. Each week, a new group of students explore various areas through lab experiments, field trips, and hands on activities. Resident Assistants are responsible for working with the Site Coordinator and Program Coordinator to assist participants to classes, attend field trips, and plan nighttime activities. Resident Assistants should not be taking classes during the time of the institute and will be required to move in three days prior to the program for training.

July 23-28, 2000
July 30-August 4, 2000

Positions Available
4 Residence Assistants - $375 per week, plus room and board

Project SUPER
Work with girls who will be attending Douglass College in the fall. Help introduce them to residence life and the ins and outs of being a science major. Resident Assistants are responsible for working with the Site Coordinator and Program Coordinator to assist participants to classes, attend field trips, and plan nighttime activities. Resident Assistants should not be taking classes during the time of the institute and will be required to move in on July 6th for training.

Positions Available
4 Resident Assistants - $350 for the program + room and board
1 Site Coordinator - $10/hour - must be available to work the month preceeding the program.

Girl Scout Leadership Institute (GSLIST)
Work with High School age Girl Scouts from all over the country in a program revolving around learning about opportunities in math and science. You will be a mentor for two girls whose interests match yours, which involves the requirement of communicating with them via an online forum throughout the following school year. Mentors should not be taking classes at the time of the event and will be required to move in two days before the event and stay one day afterwards.

12 Mentors - $350, $50 after completing online mentoring
1 Site Coordinator- $10/hr - must be available to work the month preceeding the program.
