About the Stipend:
The Douglass College Summer Science Research Program provides stipends of $1500 each for students doing summer research projects. Sponsoring laboratories or individual researchers are asked to contribute a minimum of $500 to supplement the award from Douglass College.
Who can apply?
Any Douglass College Student wanting to do summer research in math, science, or engineering.
How do I apply?
Complete the application form and return it to the Douglass Project by
Monday, April 24, 2000.
When will I know if I have been awarded a stipend?
All applicants will be notified of their status by Monday, May 15, 2000.
What are my obligations as a stipend awardee?
Submit a short report (3-5) pages by August 18, 2000
Participate in the fall Douglass Project Poster Session
Attend a summer dinner program to prepare for the Poster Session.
Plan to work a minimum of 25 hours per week for 8 weeks or 20 hours per week for 10 weeks.

Make sure your completed application includes:
The application form
A brief statement (250 words) describing the proposed research project
A transcript
A letter from your faculty sponsor to include:
- A description of your role in the lab and/or project
- The amount of matching funds
- The number of weeks and hours per week you will be working
- How your project fits into the larger context of his/her research
- An evaluation of your academic performance
