Sandra Y. Lewis, PsyD
Associate Professor of Psychology, Director of African American Studies, Montclair State University

Sandra Lewis is a clinical psychologist with 15 years experience in HIV/AIDS and a nationally recognized expert on cultural competence and psychosocial care of children, women and families living with HIV/AIDS. Dr. Lewis has multiple publications including book chapters, manuals, and journal articles as well as work on videos to address crucial issues in HIV care. She has been responsible for developing and implementing curricula and providing technical assistance related to enhancing cultural competence and psychosocial care. She is actively involved in utilizing her skills to address HIV/AIDS as a global crisis and has participated in FXBC efforts in Thailand, Zimbabwe and the Caribbean.

Dr. Lewis is an Associate Professor of Psychology and Director of African American Studies at Montclair State University and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. She is an active member of the American Psychology Association Office on AIDS, HIV Office for Psychology Education Senior Faculty.
