RUWINS - Rutgers University Women In Neuroscience

What is RUWINS?

RUWINS stands for Rutgers University Women In NeuroScience. RUWINS is a joint venture between the W. M. Keck Center for Collaborative Neuroscience and the Douglass Project for Rutgers Women in Math, Science, and Engineering, with funding provided by Johnson & Johnson.

The purpose of the program is to train a generation of women who will be leaders in the field of Neuroscience through practical experience with graduate and faculty mentoring.

The RUWINS program targets female students interested in neuroscience, but is not limited to them. Many young men see Women in Neuroscience and run in the other direction thinking that it is only for women and they cannot participate, nothing could be further from the truth.

The women scientists do speak from the perspective of being a woman, but that is not a title that they are confined to. These women have to share with both men and women, so if you are a male student interested in neuroscience and the RUWINS program, please feel comfortable to join us for the different events we program through the year.
