GRETA KIERNAN

Greta Kiernan, a mother of six and grandmother of eleven, served one term in the Assembly from Bergen County and worked in Government for nearly 40 years before retiring in October 2006. Greta was on the staff of three Assembly members, three State Senators, one Congressman (Rush Holt) and three governors. She also worked at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the Department of Environmental Protection.

Kiernan was the first Democratic woman to be elected to the Assembly from Bergen County. In addition to being a visiting associate at Eagleton, she is a contributor to The Star Ledger blog NJ Voices, vice chair of the Plainsboro Planning Board, and a communications and fundraising consultant.
