Don Linky

Senior Policy Fellow
B.A. from Dartmouth College, 1968; JD from Harvard Law School, 1972. Also attended the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Linky is the principal researcher and website developer for the Rutgers Program on the Governor, a project to encourage study of the office of the governor in the 50 states. He also oversees Eagleton’s Electronic Government Project, including its online Archive of American Politics, and coordinates online publication of www.njvoterinfo.org, a website sponsored by Eagleton to provide nonpartisan voter information on New Jersey elections.

His research includes projects undertaken for the State of New Jersey recommending improvements in design, content and usability of the state government's various websites. During the administration of New Jersey Governor Brendan T. Byrne, Linky served as chief counsel to the governor and director of the Governor's Office of Policy and Planning. A former law clerk to the Supreme Court of New Jersey, he has practiced law with leading New Jersey law firms and has served as general counsel to the New Jersey Business & Industry Association.

He has been a columnist for the Business Journal of New Jersey; New Jersey Reporter and New Jersey Business magazines, and an editor of the reference books: The New Jersey Directory; The Insider Guide to New Jersey Leaders; The New Jersey Almanac; and The New Jersey Municipal Almanac. Don has served on various public and nonprofit boards or advisory groups, including the editorial board of The New Jersey Encyclopedia; New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Taxation; New Jersey Future; Council of State Planning Agencies; New Jersey Capital Budgeting and Planning Commission; and Directory Publishers Forum-North America. A native of Asbury Park, he now resides in Princeton.
