Gilda Morales

Project Manager, Information Services, CAWP

Gilda is project manager of information services at the Center for American Women and Politics, Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. The Center a unique non-profit, non-partisan organization was created in 1971 to research women's influence and participation in the political process.

Currently, she directs the research, collection and organization of current and historical information about women's political participation. She responds to inquiries from the media, scholars, activists, officeholders and the general public.

She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Women's Studies from Douglass College, Rutgers University. She is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Public Administration. Prior to her recent activities, Gilda worked in banking for over twenty years as an accountant.

In 1996, Gilda received the Barbara Boggs Sigmund award, given in memory of the mayor of Princeton Borough. The award is given in honor of the inspiring example of Barbara Sigmund's leadership, and it goes to a graduating senior from Douglass College who is herself a promising public leader.

In 1991, she was a fellow along with twenty-four other Latinas in a year long program of the Hispanic Women's Leadership Institute, Rutgers University, a program to empower Latinas for positions of leadership in the public and private sectors.
