Mediero: A LOVE TOO BEAUTIFUL (Juana del amor
Translated by Hazel Cazorla. 1995.
A historical drama in 2 acts, reinterpreting the life story of Joanna, the so-called "mad" queen of Renaissance Spain, from a distinctly modern, feminist point of view. Deliberately and comically anachronistic dialogue in an action which is non-naturalistic in its use of time and space.
World premiere: Dir. Angel Ruggiero, Príncipe Theatre, Madrid, 1983. Staged reading of English translation presented February 18, 1998, "Veladas Culturales Hispánicas" series at the Dallas Casa de España.
