September 13th, Peter Morin (Community Ecologist):“The Changing Community Ecology of Hutcheson Memorial Forest.”

September 20th, Aspassia Chatziefthimiou (Microbial Ecologist): “The microbial ecology of Hutcheson Memorial Forest.”

October 4th, Kenneth Elgersma (Plant Ecologist): “A depression era menu from the forest.”

October 11th, Jim Quinn (Plant Ecologist): “A wild plant walk amongst the colors of Fall.”

October 25th, Maria Stanko (Community Ecologist): “Ecology for kids at Hutcheson Memorial Forest.”

November 15th, Joan Ehrenfeld (Ecosystem Ecologist): “Seeing the forest amongst the trees-an ecosystem ecologist's view of Hutcheson Memorial Forest.”

Trips leave from the entrance of the woods at 2150 Amwell Road (Route 514) about 3/4 mile east of East Millstone, New Jersey. The trail through the woods may be muddy in places except in dry weather, so persons should come prepared. The trip through the woods takes between an hour and two hours. There is no charge, and reservations are not required on these guided public tours.*

*Groups of more than ten persons may not attend the guided tours. Such groups are invited to write or email the Director, Peter J. Morin, Department of Ecology, Evolution and Natural Resources, Rutgers University, 14 College Farm Road, New Brunswick, NJ 08901, hmfdirector@aesop.rutgers.edu, for special guided tours to be arranged at other times.  For private tours, please contact the caretaker three weeks in advance.
