This horse fly Tabanus strictus is ovipositing her eggs near water. Tabanid flies are fierce biters (although not all bites humans) and have been implicated in transmitting diseases such as:

  1. Anthrax.
  2. Tularemia.
  3. Neither.
  4. Both.
