Center for Women’s Global Leadership
The Center for Women’s Global Leadership (CWGL) was established in 1989 with the mission to develop and facilitate women’s leadership for women’s human rights and social justice worldwide. It has fostered women's leadership in the area of human rights through women's global leadership institutes, strategic planning activities, international mobilization campaigns, United Nations monitoring, global education endeavors and print and electronic publications. Its programs promote the leadership of women and advance feminist perspectives in policy-making processes in local, national and international arenas. The founding of CWGL and its early work in both conceptual framing and leadership development can be seen as defining factors in the emergence of a women’s human rights paradigm and movement.
