500 words about Me

First of all...

I enjoy secrets and adventures; I enjoy history. So I figuerd what better way to bring all of this together than to develop a site about espionage. Since I also have a strong interest in the former Soviet Union - particularly during the Cold War - that will be the focus of this site. I hope it is enjoyable, informative, and entertaining for you.

Boring, Everyday Things

I am a graduating senior at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. I am an English major currently working towards a Professional Writing Certificate. I hate math.

My family is very important to me. I have a younger sister, Gina and a younger brother, David. I grew up in a small, suburban town named Little Falls, about 12 miles outside of New York City.

Employment and Future "Plans"

My plan for life... I currently don't have one. Whatever happens, happens. Why plan things out and then miss out on something even better? So we'll see where an English major and a savings account with $5.88 in it will take me.

As far as employment right now goes, I am a Supervisor at the College Avenue Computing Center. I've held some form of employment or another since I was 13, paying my way through college, buying a car, etc. It's not a bad job.

I just recently began an internship with Family Circle, one of the Meredith Corporation's largest and most profitable magazines. Family Circle Who knows what I'll have to offer, but so far I've been having a great time learning the ins and the outs of the publishing industry through one of its most respected corporations. Meredith is located at Lexington and 41st, so it's right in the middle of everything. It's fun. And I feel important, even though I'm not being paid.

Travel

I love to travel and recently took a very spontaneous backing trip across Europe with an awesome friend of mine, Rob. I had a fantastic time running around, trying to figure out what people were saying, where we were going, and what to see.

We visited 14 countries in 42 days. I became an expert on the (absolutely fantastic) Eurail system Eurail, hosteling HostelWorld, and finding the cheapest (and therefore best) local food. Rob and I visited virtually every major tourist attraction in Western Europe and learned about the cultures, folklore, and attitude of each city. I wouldn't trade a second of it, even if it meant having a lot more than $5.88 in my bank account.

Countries Visited

France Spain
Switzerland Italy
Greece Germany
Austria Czech Republic
Denmark Netherlands
Belgium Scotland
Ireland England

This photo to the left is of me on a donkey in Santorini, Greece. It was virtually impossible to hold onto the donkey, let alone grab a decent picture, the hill was so steep. It was a lot of fun.

I'd travel anywhere, and I'd do it the fun way - backpacking. Something that doesn't keep me on a schedule. There isn't anything quite like not knowing where you're going to end up that night or who you're going to meet later on. It's exciting.

Below I've listed some places I'd like to go in the near future.
