To access readings
on electronic reserve:
1. Go to www.rutgers.edu
2. Click on quick links under New Brunswick/Piscataway
-- this results in a pull down menu
3. Click on libraries
4. Click on IRIS
5. click on electronic reserve (dark blue tab on top)
6. In the "search term" field, enter my last name.
7. Click on instructor.
8. Click on my name.
9. Click on the correct course. (This is slightly tricky this
year because
I am teaching two similar courses. One is grad the other undergrad.).
10. WARNING. Unfortunately, the RU reserve system lists articles
in alphabetical order according to the TITLE of the article (not the author).
Furthermore, it does not count little articles like "The" or "A" when
arranging articles by title. Its annoying, no two ways about it.
Also, your course may have MORE than one page worth of articles.
If you do not find what you want on the first page, click the
"forward" tab on the top or bottom of the screen. Another
bizarre and dysfunctional quirk of the system, though, is that
on EACH NEW page, the listing starts with the #1. Its potentially
confusing, but now that you are alerted, you will figure it out.
As annoying as it is, remember -- it beats paying for a textbook or coursepack.
