My top 50 movies of all time

Here is a more or less accurate list of my 50 favorite movies, listed chronologically. I have seen all of the movies on the list at least twice, and all are at least 5 years old. I think a movie has to stand the test of time and must improve with repeated viewings to make the list.

50 movies sounds like a lot, but I had to leave out a lot of favorites. Some that didn't quite make it: The Lady Vanishes, Foreign Correspondent, The Magnificent Ambersons, Laura, The Razor's Edge, Strangers on a Train, Sweet Smell of Success, The Manchurian Candidate, Serpico, The Godfather Part II, The Verdict, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Scent of a Woman, Schindler's List, The Usual Suspects, and The Insider. (Maybe I'll have to expand to 100...)
