Bishop Winterrowd:
Posted on the web was the following form letter attributed to your office. Your office's arrogant, evasive and thoughtless reply ignored a reasonable request for information about your vote at Lambeth. I have avoided using the polite, pious fawning that person used in his letter to you. There is clearly nothing gentle about you.
You, Bishop Winterrowd, have been quoted by a Denver newspaper as saying you voted for the Lambeth resolution because Africans needed it to counter the popularity of Islam.
I remain curious as to why any bishop would consider this so called need of African clerics to scapegoat gay men and women as an antidote for Islam to take precedence over the well being of the gay men and women the scapegoating harms. No matter how you try to rationalize it, hateful pronouncements like the Lambeth resolution on sexuality are dehumanizing epithets that provide justification for more injustice and violence perpetrated on gay men and women.
You and the other Bishops who voted for the Lambeth Resolution have the blood on your hands of every gay African, Asian, European and American who is harassed, murdered, beaten, tortured or imprisoned.
How dare you wash your hands of it with a form letter!
