Subject: Budget/Expenses of the Lambeth Commission

 Gentle Canon Cameron,

I would appreciate any information available on the budget for the Lambeth
Commission, including how much is spent for travel and accommodations for
the members.

What is the source of these funds? Do they come from the operating budget
of the Anglican Communion? from the operating budget of the primates?

How is that expense born, in what rough percentages, by the member
provinces of the Communion?

Perhaps you already have this online in the interest of transparency. If
so, I would appreciate your pointing me to the specific web address for it.

Your job can't be very pleasant, given the rancor circulating from most
quarters. I hope you have a fine spiritual director and a strong prayer
life.

 Joy!

Dear Dr Crew

I hope you'll excuse a brief answer. The budget for the meetings of the
Lambeth Commission are some 60,000 - roughly 20,000 a meeting, i.e.
approximately 1000 per person per meeting. This money has been found from
the regular budget of the ACC from the suspended meetings of the Oriental
Orthodox Commission and IARCCUM, delaying the start of the next round of
Methodist and Lutheran Commissions from 2004 to 2005, which had become
likely in any case, and the suspension of meetings of the Doctrinal
Commission for two years. I hope that helps. Thank you for your expression
of sensitivity to the delicate circumstances in which we work these days!
