How many who signed the pastoral would have been there under the old procedure?
A few days ago, someone asked how many who signed the pastoral would have
been there under the procedure of restricting attendance to diocesan
bishops. At this Lambeth, suffragans were invited as well.
Of the 67 ECUSA bishops who signed the Pastoral Statement affirming
lesbigays, 54 (81%) were diocesans or coadjutors. Of 132 active ECUSA
bishops (excluding the assistants), 108 (81%) are diocesans or coadjutors.
The new procedure does not appear to have influenced the weight of ECUSA
bishops supporting lesbigays.
