BIOGRAPHY

Mohammad Parsa Hosseini received his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ under supervision of Dr. Zoran Gajic. During his PhD, he  has worked on signal/image processing, machine learning, deep learning, and data science methods. He is collaborating with the Medical Image Analysis Lab, Henry Ford Health System, Detroit, MI with supervision of Dr. Hamid Soltanian-Zadeh on statistical data analysis projects. Also, he is collaborating with the Neurology and Neurosurgery Dept., Spectrum Health, Grand Rapids, MI with supervision of Dr. Kost Elisevich, to develop machine learning and data science methods for brain computer interface (BCI).

Previously, he was a research intern at Apple Inc., Silicon Valley, CA, during the summer of 2017. From 2013-2014, he worked in Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI as a research assistant on machine learning and data analysis projects. From 2011-2012, he did research in the National Research Institute of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, Masih Daneshvari Hospital under supervision of Dr. Mehrdad Bakhshayesh-Karam. They have developed data processing and computer aided diagnosis (CAD) systems for early detection of lung cancer. From 2007-2012, he did research in the Control and Intelligent Processing Center of Excellence, University of Tehran and in the Noor Medical Imaging center with supervision of Dr. Shahram Akhlaghpoor and Dr Soltanian-Zadeh. They have developed data mining, machine learning and data processing expert systems for detection of COPD. He served as chair of the ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T), SG 17, Branch in Iran in 2013. He has been teaching as an adjunct professor at several universities since 2009.
