BIOGRAPHY

Mohammad-Parsa Hosseini is a PhD candidate in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ. He is a member of the Cyber Physical System Laboratory (CPS Lab) at the Center of Cloud and Autonomic Computing (CAC), where he is advised by Dr. Dario Pompili. Also, he has the privilege of collaborating with Dr. Hamid Soltanian-Zadeh at Radiology and Research Administration Dept., Henry Ford Health System, MI. Parsa is collaborating with the Medical Image Analysis Lab, Henry Ford Health System, Detroit, MI on medical imaging and data analysis. They have proposed and developed new brain computer interfaces for surgery evaluation in epileptic patients from MRI and fMRI data. Also, he is collaborating with the Neurology and Neurosurgery Dept., Spectrum Health, Grand Rapids, MI under supervision of Dr. Kost Elisevich, to develop an EEG based brain computer interface (BCI) for epileptic seizure detection and prediction. He was a research intern at Apple Inc., Silicon Valley, CA, during the summer of 2017.

Previously from 2013-2014, he worked in Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI as a research assistant on computational neuroscience and medical data analysis projects. From 2011-2012, he did research for the early stage detection of lung cancer in the National Research Institute of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, Masih Daneshvari Hospital, Tehran, Iran under supervision of Prof. Mehrdad Bakhshayesh-Karam. They have developed a computer aided diagnosis (CAD) system for lung nodule detection from chest computed tomography (CT) images. From 2007-2012, he did research in the Control and Intelligent Processing Center of Excellence, University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran, under supervision of Dr. Hamid Soltanian-Zadeh and in the Noor Medical Imaging center, Tehran, Iran under supervision of Dr. Shahram Akhlaghpoor. They have developed a CAD expert system for the detection of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). He served as chair of the ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T), SG 17, Branch in Iran in 2013. He has been teaching as an adjunct professor at several universities since 2009.
