DHEA is a steroid hormone produced by the human body. Production of the steroid drops off after age 40. It is available in health food stores, and is taken as a dietary supplement by some males over 40. It appears not to be advisable for women to take this steroid, and it is contraindicated for men with prostate problems. I collected a few online web pages -- I don't agree with all that they say, but I thought they would be interesting to at least some people. Naturally scientific articles from established journals carry MUCH more weight than random web-musings, but at least the first link below will allow you to find and read real journal articles about the effects of DHEA.
