The Center for Occupational Employment Information (COEI), a member of America's Career Resource Network (ACRN), is a state agency that attends to the occupational information needs of vocational education and employment and training program managers and policy makers and the career development needs of youth and adults.

The construction industry plays an important role in New Jersey's vibrant economy. The State needs skilled labor in a wide range of trades including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical installation, framing, sheet metal, and ironwork. Individuals can learn about the trades in vocational schools, apprentice programs, and unions.

The site provides a list of unions, trade associations, and other resources to assist you in exploring the various careers, training, education, and the opportunities in the building and construction industry.

The University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey/Center for Continuing and Outreach Education in close collaboration with the The HealthCare Institute of New Jersey is pleased to announce the creation of a website specifically intended for high school and college students who are looking for a list of available internships.

Douglass Science Career Exploration Day

The Douglass Science Career Exploration Day for young women in grades 11 and 12 will be held February 14th, 2004 at Douglass College. Career exploration is a vital part of the education process that often doesn't get enough attention, therefore; this day will be a great opportunity for students to discover the many hidden careers in the areas of science, math, engineering and technology that they were not aware of. They will here from women in these fields and learn of the challenges and rewards of following a path that may not always be traditional for their gender. Your assistance is needed to get the word out and to encourage young women to be a part of this exciting event. Registration and more information can be accessed from the website.
