Project Goal

The primary goal of the project is to empower caregivers with the skills necessary to address behavioral challenges within the natural environment and thus, assisting consumer in maintaining their community participation.


Program Description/Philosophy

  • NSTM is a psychoeducational consultation and training program offered to caregivers of person with developmental disabilities and severe behavior challenges.

  • Services are provided in the referred individual's natural setting, be it a family, skill sponsor or group residence, school or work center.

  • The natural setting is transformed into a therapeutic environment.

  • NSTM is concerned with improving the quality of life of all persons involved, and therefore, teaches strategies to enhance the ability of all to experience positive interactions with each other.
