Degrees Conferred

The number of degrees awarded by the university has been consistent in recent years, subject to minor fluctuations. The same is also true of the degree levels awarded (Baccalaureate, Master's, Ph.D.). After a period of enormous growth in the 1970s and early 1980s, Rutgers' size has stabilized, consistent with demographic trends in New Jersey. While the overall percent of college age students has declined in recent years, the percent of this group seeking higher education has increased, resulting in a stabilized college population in the state.
