EMPLOYER SATISFACTION INFORMATION

Degree Employers are Satisfied with the Graduates

Rutgers University is composed of 29 degree-granting divisions and has approximately 48,000 students at its three campuses. In academic year 1995-96, the university awarded nearly 10,000 baccalaureate and advanced degrees. Over the past 10 years, Rutgers has awarded over 94,000 degrees. As of 1995, there were approximately 200,000 graduates of the university located in all fifty states, not counting those alumni dwelling in other countries.

The university's academic programs are consistently rated highly both formally, as evidenced by the 1989 invitation to join the prestigious Association of American Universities, and informally, as in such rankings as those issued by Money Magazine and U.S. News and World Report.

The university's size and complexity have made it difficult to track students and their employers in a systematic fashion. For this reason, a systematic survey of employer satisfaction with Rutgers graduates is not practical. Notwithstanding, existing reports, while very positive, are specific to departments or schools.
