Yangjou
The Grand Canal flows to the east of the city. But note the
ancient branch of the canal that also winds through the center of the city
and enters a narrow point on the Yangtze River near Guajou.
The modern auto ferry across the Yangtze departs from Guajou for Jennjiang.
 

Jennjiang
The original route of the Grand Canal is shown in blue cutting through the center of the city,
entering the Yangtze in proximity to Guajou on the opposite bank.
