Type 2 Refolded Folds

Type 2 fold interference pattern resembling "winged" or "butterfly" outcrop patterns from Loch Monar, Scotland. Looking down on the outcrop, this pattern results from a recumbent first phase of folding (with hinges trending up-down) followed by upright folds trending left-right. Photo credit: Rob Knipe.
