Synsedimentary Deformation

Photo
Synsedimentary faults and associated folds in Ridge basin, California. Most of the faults are normal faults, but a few have reverse separation. Note the dramatic change in thickness of the light layer bounded by the yellow horizons, indicating that the faulting was syndepositional. This unit also displays a well-developed rollover fold into the largest growth fault. Photo credit: Roy W. Schlische.
