Areas of Interest: She is a health psychologist by training, and investigates the intersection between eating behavior, psychological stress, and health. As part of her research program, Dr. Tomiyama studies (a) why people diet, focusing on weight stigma; (b) what happens to people when they diet, focusing on psychological stress and biological aging; and (c) who the best/worst dieters are, and what we can learn from them.
