You are invited to participate in a project involving simple categorization tasks and a short survey concerning your attitudes and romantic relationships. The study is being conducted by Dr. Laurie Rudman of Rutgers University, and it has been approved by the Rutgers University Institutional Review Board. No deception is involved, and there are no known risks to participating in this study. The only restriction to participating in this research is fluency in English. Participation in the study involves completing a short survey, which includes questions about your romantic relationships. In addition, you will complete a computer task that involves categorizing different words and pictures along with positive and negative words. In total, participation typically takes 20 minutes.
Any information obtained in connection with this study will be strictly confidential and the researcher will not be able to identify the source of any information supplied by you in the course of the session. In addition, the web program utilizes a secure server to store responses, therefore responses will be safe from unauthorized third parties. In any written reports or publications, no one will be identified or identifiable and only aggregate data will be presented. We expect approximately 1500-2000 online respondents to participate in this study.
